Position :AV Network Administrator 

Location: 100% Remote - (Must be able to drive to Wheaton, MD)

Job Responsibilities:

1. System Management: Oversee and maintain all AV and networking hardware and software, including projectors, microphones, video conferencing systems, and network routers and switches.
2. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for AV and network-related issues, resolving problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
3. Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and update AV and network systems. Ensure all configurations meet the specific requirements of various departments within the organization.
4. Network Security: Implement security measures to protect data and manage access controls for both AV and network systems.
5. Training and Documentation: Train staff on the operation of AV equipment and create user manuals and documentation for systems operations. Ability to read and create network topology diagrams and relate them to engineered drawing sets.
6. Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of new technology and the maintenance of existing systems. Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements.
7. System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of AV technologies with existing IT network infrastructure to facilitate communication and data transfer across platforms.
8. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting for AV and network needs, including forecasting future requirements and potential upgrades.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field experience.
• Proven experience in managing and supporting AV and network systems.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, data transmission, and how networking can impact Audio Visual specific networks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in various AV technologies and network management software.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical details to non-technical staff.
• Certifications in network or AV technologies (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA, or AVIXA) are preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with occasional visits to different sites within the organization for system setup and maintenance.
• May require availability outside of standard working hours to support system upgrades or resolve critical system failures.
