Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced accounting/ERP integration consultant to assist with integrating a newly acquired business operation into the accounting, treasury, and ERP environment. The consultant will work closely with the V.P. Finance, operations personnel, IT/ERP resources, banking partners, and other stakeholders to transition the acquired operation's financial and transaction-processing activities into our systems and processes.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
1. Integration — Assist with integrating the acquired operation and establishing its new company instance in Great Plains, including:
Process Integration
- Customer order entry, order processing, invoicing, accounts receivable and payment processes
- Marketplace and web-store order processing and payment settlement
- Inventory-related transaction processing, as applicable
- Data conversion/migration and validation, as applicable
- Documentation of new processes and procedures
Accounting Integration — Manage the integration of the acquired operation's accounting activities into our ERP and accounting environment
- Establish opening balances and appropriate acquisition-date accounting entries in coordination with the accounting team
- Document and revise as necessary the acquired operation's existing month-end close processes
- Establish the appropriate NetSuite company/entity structure
- Map the acquired operation's accounts and transactions into the company chart of accounts
- Assist with preparation of the first post-acquisition monthly close
- Identify and resolve accounting data integrity issues
- Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trail for the transition
Treasury Activity Integration — Manage the transition of treasury and banking processes for the acquired operation to company-controlled bank accounts and treasury processes, including:
- Cash receipts, including customer ACH payments
- Web-store and marketplace receipts and settlement processes
- Vendor payments
- Intercompany/inter-entity payments and settlements
- Bank account setup and implementation
- Bank reconciliations
- Positive pay, ACH controls and other bank security processes, as applicable
2. Integration Planning & Project Management
- Develop and maintain an integration activity checklist and timeline
- Track open issues and drive timely resolution
- Escalate significant risks or delays to the V.P. Finance
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Identify key financial and transaction-processing controls required following the acquisition
- Establish appropriate segregation of duties
- Establish controls over cash receipts and disbursements and inter-entity transaction segregation
- Establish appropriate bank reconciliation procedures
- Identify control gaps inherited from the acquired operation
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably including accounting systems implementation or integration experience
- Strong general ledger and transaction-processing experience
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial system implementations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple integration activities simultaneously
- Ability to work on-site in the Santa Ana/Irvine, California area
