We're looking for a highly organized and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our client in San Jose. You'll oversee all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and smooth vendor relationships.


What you'll do:

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice receipt to payment.
  • Lead process improvements and implement new AP software.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and answer vendor and internal inquiries.
  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize payments to maximize discounts.
  • Oversee payment runs, escheatment, and 1099 reporting.
  • Help with travel and expense report audits.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to negotiate better vendor terms.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and colleagues.
  • Mentor and train AP staff.
  • Maintain AP documentation, including procedures and internal controls.
  • Support AP system implementations and process automation.
  • Contribute to AP metrics development and special projects.

What you'll need:

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2-3 years in management.
  • Experience with accounting software, AP system testing and implementation, unclaimed property reporting, 1099 reporting, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel: pivot tables, graphs, VLOOKUP).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with performance management, training, and employee development.
  • Ability to analyze complex regulations and respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations.
