About The Company: A well-established professional organization in Washington, DC is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Communications Associate to provide temporary support to its communications team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional to gain hands-on experience developing digital content across multiple platforms.
Job Description: The Digital Communications Associate will support the development, editing, and distribution of content across digital, email, web, and print channels. This position requires strong writing and editing abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while working within tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with internal teams and contributing to communications surrounding events and organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop timely news and feature content for digital and email audiences
- Edit written materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity, and adherence to established standards
- Coordinate with website stakeholders to publish, update, and maintain online content
- Assist with real-time communications, including newsletters and social media coverage during events
- Draft and edit content for printed publications, newsletters, and other marketing materials
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of recurring email communications
- Work with outside vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure digital communications are delivered accurately and on schedule
- Help manage content calendars and track deadlines across multiple communications projects
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in digital communications, content marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related professional field
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with digital communications and marketing platforms such as WordPress, Hootsuite, Canva, or CRM systems is a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline required
Additional Details: This is a fully onsite contract opportunity based in Washington, DC, with an anticipated duration of 3–4 months. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule during standard business hours.
