Work Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–10:00pm
  • Weekend & holiday shifts run 11:30am–6:00pm
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays; schedule may vary
  • Type of Assignment: Contract with potential for permanent hire

About Our Client

Addison Group is supporting a respected healthcare organization seeking an experienced Admitting Representative to assist with patient access functions in both an Emergency Department and Immediate Care setting. This position requires onsite presence at multiple downtown Chicago locations.

Job Description

The Admitting Representative will play a key role in welcoming patients, completing front-end registration, verifying insurance information, and supporting financial intake processes. This role requires strong customer service skills, prior Epic experience, and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and collect required demographic, insurance, and financial information to complete accurate registration
  • Enter and update patient data within Epic and ensure documentation is thorough and compliant
  • Handle check-in and check-out workflows, including scheduling follow-up appointments when needed
  • Request and process point-of-service payments and reconcile funds according to departmental guidelines
  • Verify insurance benefits using online tools, fax, or phone, and initiate pre-authorization when needed
  • Calculate estimated patient responsibility and communicate payment expectations clearly
  • Help patients navigate financial assistance options, including payment plans or state insurance applications
  • Assist patients with billing-related questions and document all interactions in Epic
  • Maintain strong understanding of insurance guidelines, managed care requirements, and front-end workflows
  • Support other administrative tasks as assigned and maintain professionalism in a high-volume environment

Qualifications

  • Epic experience required
  • Prior admitting, registration, or patient access experience (Immediate Care or ED experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of insurance plans and verification processes
  • Proven reliability, consistent attendance, and positive performance references
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department needs
