Patient Financial Experience Representative (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Remote (must reside in one of the following states to be considered TX, FL, GA, IN, KY, MS, MO, NC, OH, and SC)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time schedule. Training schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time, with some flexibility in start time after training

Pay: $20-22/hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)

Job Description

The Patient Financial Experience Representative will support a remote call center environment focused on patient collections, account resolution, and financial conversations with patients. This role is responsible for handling high-volume inbound calls, explaining patient balances, reviewing insurance details, collecting payments, and setting up payment plans when needed. The ideal candidate is empathetic, professional, and comfortable working in a busy, metrics-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of inbound patient calls regarding outstanding balances
  • Review and explain patient statements, balances, and insurance payment information
  • Read and interpret EOBs to help patients understand their financial responsibility
  • Explain copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and payment options
  • Collect patient payments and assist with setting up payment plans
  • Research account questions and help resolve patient billing concerns
  • Document call details and account updates accurately
  • Use client systems and internal resources to support patient conversations
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and empathetic approach with patients
  • Stay engaged with the team through messages, updates, and company communication
  • Support overall call center goals related to quality, call volume, and patient experience

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of recent experience in a role where you were responsible for 50 or more patient calls per day is required
  • Experience with patient collections, payment plans, or patient financial conversations is required
  • Ability to read and understand EOBs required
  • Must live in one of these states to be eligible: TX, FL, GA, IN, KY, MS, MO, NC, OH, and SC
