Job Description:
The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations while remaining actively involved in the work. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for guiding accounting staff, maintaining accurate records, and helping the team keep pace with a growing workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily AP and AR activity in a high-volume environment
- Supervise and support a team of AP/AR accounting clerks
- Review customer sales tax documentation and maintain required certificates
- Collect and maintain vendor W-9 forms
- Analyze vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Research and resolve accounting-related issues
- Assist with accounting tasks as needed to support the team and business
Qualifications:
- Previous accounting supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong AP and AR background
- Experience with sales tax documentation and certificates
- Familiarity with vendor W-9 requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Additional Details:
This is a working-manager position, meaning the individual will be actively involved in AP/AR rather than functioning solely in a supervisory capacity. The ideal candidate is adaptable, patient, team-oriented, and comfortable working within established processes while helping a busy accounting department stay organized.
Interviews are available virtually or in person as soon as tomorrow. Candidates should be available to begin as soon as next week or the following week, pending completion of required pre-employment requirements and IT setup.
