Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $70,000-$80,000
Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, 401 (k) and PTO.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing general support to the Company’s General Counsel.
- Supporting M&A activities within the organization, specifically by supporting due diligence efforts.
- Maintaining and updating the contract management system, ensuring timely tracking of key dates and obligations.
- Assisting with regulatory compliance in the energy space, e.g., public utility commissions, NFA, secretaries of state, etc.
- Assisting with general corporate legal matters such as corporate governance, employment related documents, and litigation support.
- Maintaining licenses, certifications, entity registrations, and bonds over several lines of business, including calendaring deadlines for filings.
- Administrative tasks such as document filing and organization, editing template documents, coordinating meetings, calendar management, and taking detailed meeting minutes.
- Assisting with special projects as needed, with the ability to pivot duties in an ever-changing environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably supporting corporate legal department.
- Highly Advanced Skills in grammar, proofreading, drafting documents, editing, and research.
- Advanced MS Office and computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Experience with DocuSign, Lexis, or similar management tools/databases.
