Position Overview
Addison Group is hiring for our client, an established healthcare organization in Dallas, TX, seeking two Patient Access Representatives to join its busy patient contact center.
This position focuses on handling high-volume inbound calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, completing patient registration, and assisting patients with questions regarding healthcare services.
This is a true healthcare call center position, not a traditional front desk role. Candidates must be comfortable handling 100+ inbound calls per day while maintaining accuracy and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle 100+ inbound patient calls daily regarding appointments, insurance, services, and general inquiries
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures
- Process online appointment requests and scheduling updates
- Complete patient registration and verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Update patient demographics and insurance information within the EHR system
- Educate patients on available services, pricing, and appointment preparation
- Provide appointment reminders, office information, and directions
- Generate financial estimates and discuss patient fees
- Route calls and inquiries to appropriate departments
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and protect patient confidentiality
- Meet daily productivity and quality expectations
- Collaborate with team members to support efficient patient access operations
Qualifications
- Previous healthcare call center or contact center experience required
- Experience handling high-volume inbound calls
- Patient access, medical scheduling, registration, or insurance verification experience preferred
- Experience working within an EMR/EHR system
- NextGen experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Strong phone communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
- Comfortable navigating multiple systems during patient calls
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
