About The Company:
Our client is an established organization seeking an experienced HR professional to support a workforce of approximately 500 employees. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with HR leadership and managers while providing hands-on support across employee relations, leave administration, and HR operations.
Job Description:
The HR Generalist will serve as a key resource for employees and management, with a primary focus on employee relations, leave administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, approachable, and comfortable managing sensitive workplace situations while balancing employee support with company policies and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and corrective action recommendations.
- Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term and long-term disability, and workers’ compensation claims.
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, policies, and other HR-related matters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and update information within HR systems.
- Assist with payroll support, timecard review, and processing employee changes, including transfers, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
- Support performance management, employee development, and performance review processes.
- Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with unemployment claims, workers’ compensation administration, and workplace safety initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports related to attendance, new hires, staffing, and turnover.
- Support HR projects, documentation, and other administrative initiatives as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality while providing responsive and professional employee support.
- Travel occasionally to additional company locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of HR experience, with hands-on experience in employee relations and leave administration.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation processes.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee matters with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Comfortable advising managers on employee concerns, disciplinary matters, and appropriate next steps.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar HRIS platform preferred.
