About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with a healthcare organization seeking an experienced Physician Biller & Collector to join their revenue cycle team. This role supports full-cycle physician billing, A/R management, and insurance follow-up for a busy medical group. The team values accuracy, professionalism, and candidates who can work independently within a structured business office environment.
Job Description:
The Physician Biller & Collector will manage charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and insurance collections for CMS-1500 claims. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role requiring strong knowledge of physician billing workflows, denial management, and payor portal navigation. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite and handling a high-volume manual billing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter charges, confirm authorizations, and submit electronic and paper physician claims.
- Review and resolve initial rejections, claim edits, and billing discrepancies.
- Post payments accurately and reconcile accounts with supporting documentation.
- Conduct insurance follow-up, including claim status checks, denial investigation, and appeal submission.
- Utilize payor portals, EOBs, and reporting tools to resolve outstanding A/R.
- Manage high volume and ensure timely billing submission.
- Pull encounters from internal systems or spreadsheets and enter into the physician billing platform.
- Support full-cycle physician billing for inpatient encounters and consults.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with billing guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Physician billing experience required (CMS-1500).
- Experience with charge entry, authorizations, edits, and electronic/paper claims.
- Strong physician A/R collections background, including denials and appeals.
- Proficiency reading EOBs and using insurer portals.
- Payment posting experience required.
- Ability to pick up manual processes quickly and maintain accuracy.
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible start between 7:00–8:00 AM)
- Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire
