About the Role
Addison Group is seeking an experienced Medical Biller for our client in the healthcare industry. This position is ideal for someone with strong surgical billing expertise and a solid understanding of medical coding and insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers using accurate coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and handling collections when necessary.
- Maintain organized and compliant medical records while ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to accurately document billing information.
- Communicate with providers and insurance companies to resolve claim discrepancies.
- Stay current on billing regulations and coding updates to maintain compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent medical billing experience.
- Surgical billing experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR platforms; experience with Lytec is a plus.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
Schedule & Requirements
- Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
- On-site position; remote work is not available.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
