We're working with a client looking to add a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys owning the full AP cycle and collaborating cross-functionally.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounts payables (AP) invoice processing on 2 and 3-way match purchases.
- Supervise weekly AP invoice on hold report.
- Compile and monitor AP Aging Report.
- Forecasting of weekly payment registers.
- Work with Procurement or suppliers to resolve invoice/purchase order discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and accruals for assigned accounts.
- Assist in reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and variances analysis to identify/research/resolve unusual balances.
- Assist in annual external audit as well as our annual 401(k) audit.
- Special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience.
- Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Also, understanding of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and operational groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the functionality of Microsoft Excel, basic formulas, pivot tables and charts.
