About Our Client:
Our client is seeking an HR Generalist to support large-scale operations. This is a high-visibility role within a well-known Chicago-based organization offering strong career growth, exposure to dynamic environments, and involvement in large workforce management.
Job Description:
This role will support a large, seasonal workforce within a fast-paced operations environment. The HR Generalist will act as a key partner to leadership and employees, ensuring HR processes run smoothly while maintaining compliance and driving employee engagement. This individual will also play a key role in employee relations and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for operational staff during events and peak activity periods
- Support full-cycle HR processes including onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding
- Handle employee relations matters, including conducting investigations and recommending appropriate actions
- Provide guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee management
- Partner with leadership to improve processes and enhance overall HR effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and applicable agreements
- Maintain accurate employee data and complete HR administrative tasks within HRIS systems
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely, practical HR support
- Assist with workforce planning and support a large, hourly employee population
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of HR Generalist experience required
- Strong background in employee relations and workplace investigations
- Experience supporting large, hourly or field-based employee populations preferred (manufacturing, retail, logistics, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience preferred (Workday a plus)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
