Job Title: Litigation Paralegal I

Location (city, state): Raleigh, NC

Compensation: $26 – $30 / hour

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
  • 1–2+ years of experience in a legal setting (paralegal, case manager, or similar role) within a personal injury law firm
  • Experience managing mass tort cases required
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, filings, and legal documentation
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases, and case management software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads (600–800 cases)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal I to support a dynamic personal injury legal team, with a primary focus on mass tort cases. This role is responsible for managing high-volume caseloads, maintaining accurate case files, communicating with clients, and supporting litigation efforts including drafting, filings, and discovery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high-volume mass tort caseload (600–800 cases) across various personal injury matters
  • Review and maintain case files, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates, gather information, and support case progression
  • Oversee medical records, billing documentation, and claims substantiation
  • Coordinate discovery, review documentation, and identify potential issues in claims
  • Support settlement processes, including financial tracking and disbursements
  • Manage liens and negotiate reductions as needed
  • Schedule deadlines, hearings, and appointments; maintain case calendars
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and manage service of process
  • Provide administrative and litigation support as needed
