Position Type: 3-6 month contract engagement, potential to extend or convert
Compensation: $35–$45/hour

Job Description:
We are partnering with an organization seeking a Grant Consultant to support grant compliance, funding analysis, and audit-related activities within a collaborative finance team environment. This role will play a key part in reviewing grant funding requirements, ensuring documentation accuracy, and supporting organizational compliance initiatives tied to federal, state, and private funding sources.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with grants, audits, compliance reporting, or nonprofit/government funding environments and be comfortable working independently in a hands-off environment while collaborating with finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate grant funding documentation to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and reporting requirements
- Support grant-related audits and assist with preparing documentation for internal and external review processes
- Research and organize grant information, compliance details, and funding records across multiple sources
- Partner with finance leadership to identify reporting needs, compliance gaps, and audit support requirements
- Manage full-cycle month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and prepayments in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with tracking grant activity, expenditures, and supporting financial documentation
- Prepare reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to grants and funding activity
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely completion of compliance-related deliverables
- Collaborate with accounting and finance staff to support ongoing operational and reporting needs
Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting grants, audits, compliance, or fund accounting activities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience working with accounting or financial systems; Blackbaud experience is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with federally or state-funded programs is a plus
