About Our Client:
Addison Group is hiring for our client, a respected nonprofit organization serving individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs throughout the Chicago area. The role partners closely with leadership and plays a visible part in supporting organizational initiatives.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a short-term contract engagement. This individual will step in quickly to support day-to-day HR operations, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and organizational support. The ideal candidate is adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable navigating sensitive workplace situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, advising managers and staff on workplace matters
- Lead and document internal investigations, ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with compliance initiatives, including participation in periodic internal audits
- Review HR data and provide insights to support leadership decision-making
- Support payroll-related administrative tasks such as updates to employee records and compensation changes
- Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee information and workflows
- Collaborate with leadership across multiple departments to support ongoing initiatives
- Provide occasional support with hiring and recruitment activities
Qualifications:
- Strong background in employee relations and workplace investigations
- Exposure to union environments is required
- Familiarity with payroll processes and back-end HR operations
- Ability to quickly adapt and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
