Pay: $120,000-$145,000, depending on experience, bonus AND equity component

An established organization is seeking an experienced ServiceNow professional to strengthen platform capabilities, improve business processes, and help teams make better use of existing technology.
Job Description:
The ServiceNow Platform Lead will combine hands-on platform expertise with business partnership and technical leadership. A primary focus will be expanding the use of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), helping stakeholders understand its capabilities, and configuring practical solutions that support business needs.
This person will also guide IT Service Management (ITSM) activities, coordinate external technical resources, and support platform reliability and ongoing improvements. The position offers the opportunity to grow into broader platform ownership as the function develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increase the value of the SPM module by helping teams adopt useful capabilities, improve processes, and follow effective practices.
- Meet with business partners to identify needs and translate them into ServiceNow configurations, workflows, and automation.
- Deliver demonstrations, user guidance, and training that help employees confidently use the platform.
- Provide advanced administration and technical oversight across ITSM and related platform functions.
- Coordinate vendors handling routine maintenance, support, and technical assignments; review their work for quality and completeness.
- Plan and coordinate testing, upgrades, patches, and releases, addressing dependencies and issues before production changes.
- Oversee appropriate access permissions and apply established security and platform controls.
- Support integrations, data transfers, MID Servers, and configuration records, involving specialists when needed.
- Keep technical documentation, support procedures, configuration information, and release records current.
- Recommend improvements that reduce recurring issues, simplify maintenance, and support future platform growth.
- Work with platform leadership on priorities and solution recommendations while following established approval processes.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience, including substantial ITSM expertise.
- At least 3 years of practical SPM experience, including administration, configuration, and stakeholder training or adoption support.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification required.
- Demonstrated ability to explain platform capabilities, recommend solutions, and guide business users.
- Experience independently managing platform configurations, troubleshooting, testing, and release activities.
- Familiarity with Flow Designer, service catalogs, approval workflows, reports, and dashboards.
- Working understanding of JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, code organization, and source control practices.
- Ability to use AI-assisted tools such as Copilot to support technical work and evaluate resulting output.
- Understanding of integrations, REST APIs, access controls, and platform data relationships.
- Strong communication, organization, vendor coordination, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- Additional ServiceNow development or implementation certifications are a plus.
Additional Details:
- This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports initially.
- Future growth may include team leadership and expanded platform ownership.
- SPM experience must include demonstrated use and configuration; familiarity with the module alone is insufficient.
- Prior SPM implementation experience is helpful but is not required.
- The role emphasizes platform leadership, stakeholder engagement, and configuration, with some scripting knowledge needed.
- Remote employees may travel to Nashville approximately once or twice per year.
