Addison Group is partnering with our client, a growing organization within the construction and engineering space, to hire an HR Specialist to support daily HR operations across a multi-state workforce. Job Description:

The HR Specialist will support a broad range of human resources functions including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, recruiting coordination, HR administration, and workforce support. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including interview coordination, onboarding, and orientation activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
  • Assist with maintaining compliance related to labor laws, workplace regulations, OSHA standards, and EEO guidelines
  • Maintain employee files, HR documentation, and personnel records accurately and confidentially
  • Partner with payroll and operations teams regarding attendance tracking, timesheets, and employee data updates
  • Help coordinate employee training, safety initiatives, and workforce development programs
  • Maintain and update HR systems and reporting as needed
  • Assist leadership with employee performance processes, feedback discussions, and HR-related initiatives
  • Support employee relations matters and contribute to a positive workplace culture

 Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other labor-intensive industries
  • Experience supporting HR operations across multiple states, including California
  • Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach

 Additional Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP following offer acceptance

  • Team Size: Small collaborative HR team
  • Overtime available with manager approval
  • Office relocation to Reston, VA anticipated later this year
