Job Description:
Addison Group is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Specialist for a temporary opportunity with one of our clients. This position will provide support to the accounting team with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and month-end activities. The ideal candidate will have prior AP/AR experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable transactions and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
• Research and resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies
• Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation
• Assist with preparation and distribution of annual tax reporting documents
• Process cash receipts and tenant/customer payments
• Post payments accurately within the accounting system
• Reconcile cash receipt activity to bank records and supporting documentation
• Maintain organized accounting files and records
• Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to resolve issues and support ongoing projects
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 1+ year of accounts payable and/or accounts receivable experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Related college coursework or degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience within the real estate or property management industry
• Experience with MRI, NEXUS, or similar accounting software
• Experience processing high-volume transactions
• Strong customer service and vendor relationship management skills
