Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Spring, Texas. This role is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage payroll in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now
- Review and audit payroll data including timecards, pay rates, bonuses, and deductions
- Ensure payroll is completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies prior to processing
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain and update employee payroll records including tax elections, direct deposit, and deductions
- Utilize advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) to manage and reconcile payroll data
- Generate payroll reports and assist with internal reporting requests
Timekeeping & Employee Support
- Review timekeeping data and follow up with managers/employees on missing or inaccurate information
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll processes
- Support onboarding and offboarding payroll updates
Reconciliation & Compliance
- Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain organized payroll documentation for audit purposes
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and reporting efficiency
- Support implementation of best practices within payroll operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience required
- ADP Workforce Now experience required
- Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines
