Job Description:
Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a growing organization in the Northern Virginia area. This position will support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment and work closely with HR and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable handling multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and support weekly payroll operations for a multi-employee workforce
- Review employee timecards, hours worked, payroll deductions, and adjustments for accuracy
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and payroll regulations
- Partner with HR and benefits teams to support employee records and payroll-related changes
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll activities
- Support payroll reporting and process improvement initiatives
- Utilize payroll systems and Excel to manage payroll data and reporting functions
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience processing payroll and reviewing payroll deductions, adjustments, and audits
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Rippling, or similar platforms
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
- Multi-state payroll experience is a plus

- Hybrid schedule with a combination of onsite and remote work
- Excel assessment required during the interview process
